Department Objectives

• To develop a high-tech Laboratory with well-equipped advanced electrotherapeutic modalities in order to train Physiotherapy students.

• To inculcate the concept of current, its application, it’s physiological as well as therapeutic benefits among the UG and Postgraduate students.

• To acquire the skills of application of the Electro therapy modes on models/patients for the purpose of Assessment & Treatment.

• To establish the department as a source of research for UG and PG students.

• To collaborate with other engineering departments in order to carry out interdepartmental activities innovation and research.

• To demonstrate knowledge and disciplinary concept related to the field of electrophysiological aspects to students.

• To refine their basic concepts in order to refine it for their Clinical Practice.

HOD Message 

               Electrotherapy is a gentle and non-invasive modality that works by stimulating nerves and muscles through the surface of the skin.The department of Electrotherapy tends, to explore fundamental skills in application of electrotherapeutic modalities and knowledge of indications,
contraindications and physiological principles needed for appropriate patient care. Our mission is to help people from pain and get back to normal naturally by invasive method of pain relief . More emphasis on hands on practicing in the labs giving excellent opportunity for the students to sharpen their clinical knowledge under the guidance of experienced faculty. The lab also ensures enough number of equipment’s to the students to practice. It includes topics such as Electrical stimulation, T.E.N.S., lontophoresis, Ultrasound/ Phonophoresis, Diathermy and Electro diagnostic testing etc. Electrotherapy lab is well equipped with modern equipments like LASER, Ultrasonic therapy, Interferential Therapy, etc.,
